BENCHMARK Awards has a sole mission to protect investors interests by driving companies in the financial ecosystem to become more responsible, sustainable and agile. We accomplish our mission by addressing gaps in the fundamentals of the providers and listening to what the customers are saying. The awards combine the insights and assessments by industry veterans and referencing to findings of the Voice of the Customers (VOC). The awards is a systematic one with multiple layers of scoring and weighting of various attributes and features of each layer.
Over 50 regional and international industry veterans are offering their insights throughout the categories being assessed. Based on a set of rigorous criteria and materials submitted by the company, the panel of veteran assessors will provide their evaluation of a firm’s strengths and shortfalls. The panel of adjudicators are completely independent and are volunteers who share the same mission as WealthAsia, to drive best practices and setting a higher bar for the industry to safeguard investors interests. They are senior veterans who either have once held senior management role in the banking industry, or they are qualified professionals in their respective areas.
VOICE OF THE AFFLUENT CUSTOMERS
The annual Benchmark Insurance Quality Study is an unbiased and independently funded research, covering 2,500 qualified individuals with liquid assets of USD 100k or above across the Greater Bay Area shared their thoughts and insights towards providers in the respective markets which they actively use and those that they would consider using in the future. This is a research to conduct a study into the Affluent trends, consumption habits, experiences, perceptions and overall satisfaction of banking clients within the Affluent space for both their daily banking and investments services. 536 metrics were used to measure sentiments of respondents who are existing clients, prospective clients and non-prospective clients. The research helps generate insights on their sentiments, convictions, selection drivers, and competitive analysis, etc.. for banking operators in the region.
ESG & CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITIES
Echoing to what FSDC is looking at more disclosure of ESG for insurers, BENCHMARK is taking a step forward to evaluate insurers’ readiness on their underwriting guidelines, investment process and the choices of asset classes, and the exposures of their companies’ and investees’ climate risks. BENCHMARK’s affiliate, BlueOnion, a disruptive fund research platform that focuses on Qualitative and Sustainability performances of funds, extends its data to supplement for the clarity of the awards to dive deeper into a firm’s social responsibilities, exposures, and ethics that goes beyond banks meeting stronger capital requirements. Judges voting for the Company of the Year will consider the insurer’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) contribution for their customers as well as the firm’s Business Involvement and any Controversial Policies in place will affect the ultimate interests of the consumers in general.
